Subject: One of the best Phil shows
I went to four shows on this tour, and this was easily the best, and the other shows were still great. "Burning on the Inside" by Anders Osborne was surprisingly awesome. I've never heard it before and this is the only recording of it that I can find. The instrumental Allman Brothers tunes were also spectacular. I was in the front row. It was one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Without listning to any of the other incarnations after Jerry's death and then just writing them off as cover bands is just wrong. Phil always produces great bands and interprets the music differently each time because the ever changing musicians. Bobby's Ratdog definitely brings their own sound which is different from the Dead. Furthur, I found to be quite special because you get both Bobby's and Phil's influence without trying to recreate the Dead. I have found that you can really appreciate what both Bobby and Phil brought to the Dead by listning to the bands and music they created after the Dead. Each was as much responsible for the Dead's sound as Jerry was. If you get a chance go see some of the band's play, they each bring different approaches to the music. And as far as the atmosphere of going to the Dead, that can be had regardless who is performing.

Subject: Gotta see the boys one last time
Im hoping to do so in 2014. Would love to see the remaining members team up for one last tour!
This show is great, minus one star for audio quality.

Subject: You learn something new every day....
I decided to listen to this on a whim. I'm fucking old and and the last time I saw the Dead was at Englishtown in '77. I am a big fan of the Dead collection on the archive. It's been a treat to listen to old shows and one's I wished I had been at.

I have stayed away from the various incarnations that came after Garcia's demise because I just didn't care any more. I don't know why I decided to listen to this but I am glad I did. This is not a tribute band or some nostalga trip for an over the hill rocker. This is a revelation into the depth of Phil's love for the music he made with Jerry. This band gets it. If one of my grand kids asked me what seeing the Dead was like back in the day, I would tell them to go see this band.

To 'edtyre': You, my good sir, are a shining example of what is known in these quarters as a 'rock-a-muffin'. And that's a Good Thing...nay, a *Real* Good Thing(TM)... =)
